Welcome to San Diego! If you are a certified Master Gardener who is active, and in good standing in another state but now living in San Diego, you are welcome to transfer in!
There are documents to sign and some prerequisite recorded online classes before you can be added to our roster.
First, please submit your certificate of graduation or the contact information for your previous university program representative. When did you graduate from their program and what are your current lifetime volunteer hours?
Please submit this information to Leah Taylor (Leataylor@ucanr.edu) She will also send you the following documents to sign: Code of Conduct, Roster form, Driver’s license information, and background check (Livescan).
Your hours do not transfer from other states, but our coordinator will include them in your volunteer profile, so your valuable efforts are not lost.
Once the paperwork is complete, you will be connected with our transfer liaison who will help you navigate our online volunteer portal and answer any questions you may have. You will also be provided with a California MG handbook and badge.
As you settle in, there are a couple Southern California specific courses to watch, linked below.
